Team India registered the biggest win over in-form South Africa during their eighth clash of the ODI World Cup 2023 on November 5 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Notably, India’s swashbuckling batsman Virat Kohli scored his 49th ODI tonne and equalled the record with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar on his birthday. The 35-year-old expressed his happiness after the match and opened up about the emotions he felt after equaling the record with his ideal.

The stylish right-handed batsman was extremely happy to play the good cricket that has been guiding the team towards success during the ODI World Cup 2023. In addition, the RCB stalwart was elated to achieve great milestones in his life for the Indian team.

“I’m enjoying myself, playing cricket all over again, that is more important to me than phases. Just happy that God has blessed me with that enjoyment. I’m just happy that I’m being able to do what I have done over all these years,” Virat Kohli said at the post-match presentation.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli reveals that it was a very special feeling for him to equal legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s record on his birthday. The great batsman reveals that it was so emotional for him. Moreover, the Delhi-born cricketer recalls all the memories of watching him on TV to equal his record of scoring centuries. Notably, the chase master scored an unbeaten 101 runs from 121 balls, scoring 10 boundaries on a tough wicket pitch.

“(On Sachin’s message) It is all too much for me to take in now, to equal my hero’s record is something special for me. He is perfection when it comes to batting. It’s a very emotional moment for me. I know where I come from, I know the days I have watched him on TV. Just to get that appreciation from him means a lot to me,” he added further.
