Virender Sehwag takes dig at Adipurush with his quirky sense of humour

Published on

On June 16, the eagerly awaited movie Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, came out. Since then, it has drawn criticism for its visual effects, speech, and clothing. Even meme reviews of the movie are common. Om Raut’s film Adipurush, which he directed, has been in the news ever since it was released. The star-studded movie fell immensely short of the high expectations the audience had for it.

It was encouraging to see the picture had advance bookings. But as soon as it was released, people complained that the movie fell short of their expectations. ‘Adipurush’ received criticism for everything, including the language and visual effects. Many have voiced their concerns and asked that the movie no longer be shown in theatres.

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who is majorly known for his good sense of humor on the social media platform did not fail to chip in this time and express his views on the movie. Reviewing the movie, Sehwag shared his views on the epic movie and contributed his own humorous perspective to the film as it evolved into meme material.

Taking to Twitter, the former India opener tweeted,” Adipurush dekhkar pata chala Katappa ne Bahubali ko kyun mara tha.“

Sehwag made this remark by recalling one of Prabhas’ movies ‘Bahubali’. In the film, the protagonist Baahubali, portrayed by Prabhas, meets an unfortunate fate at the hands of his uncle, Katappa. It is a no-brainer that the smashing right-hand opening batter made everyone realize that he did not like the film.

Despite all of these criticisms, Adipurush made Rs 2.00 crore on the second Friday. The company brought in Rs 3.00 crore on Saturday. The movie is hoping for a finish in the range of Rs 135 to 140 crore after earning Rs 126 crore in 9 days. As a result, Adipurush was added to the list of the worst Bollywood films currently trending. It not only made the list but also took first place.
