Former India skipper Virat Kohli is constantly scoring runs across all formats since the time he made his comeback. Against Australia, in the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he scored the 28th Test century. It came after a long gap of 1205 days in the fourth and final Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Sunday, March 12.

The last century he scored was back in November 2019, in the pink-ball Test match against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, which was also India’s first-ever Day-Night Test for the Rohit Sharma-led side. There, he scored 139 runs against the Bangla Tigers.

“My best is yet to come, which hopefully happens in the ITL 2023. If I can get to the level that I really want to, then it’ll help the team” Kohli was quoted as saying on the Bangalore franchise’s Bold Diaries. In the last edition, Kohli registered the highest score of 73 while scoring 341 runs in 16 games at an average of 22.73 and a strike rate of 115.99.

Faf du Plessis-led Bangalore franchise will their opening game against the most successful franchise of the league, the Mumbai side led by Men in Blue skipper Rohit Sharma on April 2 at M. Chinnaswammy Stadium.

Their other home game will be on April 10 against the Lucknow franchise, April 15 against the Delhi franchise, April 17 against the Chennai franchise, April 23 against the Rajasthan franchise, April 26 against the Kolkata franchise and the last home game will be played against the defending champions, the Gujarat franchise on May 21.

The former Bangalore franchise skipper recently participated in the three-match ODI series against Australia, which the visitors went on to win 2-1 after trailing 0-1. The 35-year-old scored a fifty in the third and final match of the series at MA Chidambaram which was a series decider as well but it went in vain as India lost the match 21 runs.
