‘Waah, kya acting kar rahi hai’ – Fans react as Samantha Prabhu says she cried after Virat Kohli hit century in Asia Cup 2022

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli smashed an international century after 1020 days against Afghanistan last year in the Asia Cup and since then, he is in tremendous form and smashed hundreds in all three formats. He is also performing decently in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, an Indian actress Samantha Prabhu was seen promoting her upcoming movie ‘Kushi’ in the pre-match show before the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) clash on May 10. However, she also revealed something related to Kohli and said that she cried when Kohli smashed a hundred in Asia Cup, she also said that the right-hander is her inspiration.

A brilliant all-round performance by CSK

Talking about the match, CSK won the toss and opted to bat first after which they put up a total of 167 runs with the help of collective contribution from all the batters, especially skipper MS Dhoni, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja who smashed some quick runs. Mitchell Marsh was the highest wicket-taker from DC as he picked up 3 wickets in 3 overs and conceded only 18 runs.

Chasing the target, DC could only score 140 runs as the target turned out to be more than enough for the hosts. Deepak Chahar nipped out both the openers and a horrible mix-up resulted in Marsh’s downfall. The visitors had lost their top three inside four overs on a slow surface even before MSD had introduced spin.

Manish Pandey and Rossouw stitched a 59-run stand for the fourth wicket but that came at run-a-ball. The CSK spinners choked DC with spin and the visitors couldn’t recover afterward. Matheesha Pathirana was a touch expensive but he picked three wickets as he coupled his yorkers with the slower deliveries.

CSK have almost qualified for the playoffs, on the other hand, DC’s hopes are now almost ended as they have only 2 matches remaining and they are standing on the bottom of the points table with only 10 points in 12 matches.
