The Amazon Warriors won by six wickets against the Trinbago Knight Riders during the 28th game of the CPL 2023 on September 16 at Providence Stadium. Notably, Imran Tahir’s 3-wicket haul guided the Warriors to maintain the top spot ahead of the playoffs in the CPL 2023. Earlier, it was the Amazon Warriors who won the toss and invited the Kieron Pollard–led side to bat first during the play.

After being sent to bat first, the Trinbago Knight Riders posted 176/8 in the given 20 overs. Notably, leg spinner Imran Tahir’s first innings dismissed the great batsman Walton for just 25 runs, which allowed them to restrict Trinbago Knight Riders at a low score. Later, while chasing, the Amazon Warriors achieve the target with 10 balls to spare.

Meanwhile, Amazon Warriors skipper Imran Tahir, who also won the Player of the Match award, expressed his happiness after an emphatic win. The South African cricketer called the match electrifying and thanked the people who have continuously supported them by keeping a great atmosphere. In addition, the leg spinner opened up about the challenges he loved during the play. The 44-year-old cricketer also talked about the bowling variations he used during the game to win the match.

“It is very electrifying. The people love the cricket here. I want to thank every fan. I am just grateful. Just great atmosphere to play cricket here. It was a win at the end of the day. They rested their big players but the win will give us confidence. We are enjoying each other’s success. I am a kind of a guy who loves to take on challenges. Motie has opened for us. Today was Smith. You see the atmosphere and are ready to roll. It has been difficult bowling here. We didn’t have much dew while bowling first. I tried using my variations. I am pleased I did the job for my team,” Imran Tahir said during the post-match presentation.
