WATCH: After Babar Azam episode, Simon Doull creates buzz for his reaction on seeing Hasan Ali’s wife on screen

Former New Zealand cricketer, Simon Doull was trolled by Pakistan cricket fans after he criticized their national side’s skipper Babar Azam during a Pakistan Super League (PSL). Doull blamed Babar for prioritizing his own accolades over those of the team, provoking a flurry of fan responses on Twitter. His remarks on the wife of another Pakistani cricketer, Hassan Ali, during the PSL match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans, have now made him a talking point once more.

Islamabad defeated Multan by 2 wickets in the last over of the match while chasing a target of 206 runs in 20 overs. The allrounder from the winning side, Faheem Ashraf was awarded the Player of the Match. He scored 51 runs off 26 balls at a strike rate of over 196 with five fours and two sixes.

While the victorious team’s dugout celebrated the crushing victory, Doull was in the commentary box. “She has won it. She has won a few hearts as well I believe. That is superb, absolutely stunning. And the victory,” said the former Black Caps player when the camera focused on Hassan Ali’s wife Samiyaa Arzoo

Earlier, the former Kiwi player criticised Pakistan and Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam for his knock in which he scored 115 runs in 65 balls with 15 fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 176.92 against Quetta Gladiators. “Rather than putting the team first… the last little while, that’s all that been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant, stats are great, but it has to be team first,” said the 53-year-old during the PSL match.

In that match Peshawar scored 240 runs in the first innings but star England batter Jason Roy played a marvelous innings of unbeaten 145 runs from 63 balls which came at a strike rate of just over 230 which included 20 boundaries and five sixes. His inning helped his side to chase down a mammoth total of 241 runs in the 19th over and he was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliamt innings
