WATCH: Aman Khan plucks catch out of thin air to get rid of Faf du Plessis in RCB vs DC IPL encounter
Aman Khan took an extraordinary catch in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) IPL game in Bengaluru. Faf attempted to pull Mitchell Marsh’s short ball and send it off for a boundary, but instead, the ball found Aman Khan waiting nearby. Khan led his one hand first and stuck it to the ball, and then successfully completed the catch on the second attempt to give the Delhi Capitals their first and most significant breakthrough.
With 22 runs in 16 balls, including three fours and a beautiful six against Axar Patel, the RCB captain looked dangerous. The Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh recently returned to his hometown to marry his long-time sweetheart, Greta Mack. With the breakthrough, he has demonstrated his value and the significance of his presence in the present game.

‘Aman Khan is one that has really impressed us’ – Ricky Ponting
In advance of the IPL 2023 season, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting on Friday (March 23) praised uncapped player Aman Hakim Khan from Mumbai, saying the all-rounder really pleased him in the first few preseason training sessions. The Delhi Capitals acquired the 26-year-old Mumbai native from Kolkata Knight Riders in a trade for India all-rounder Shardul Thakur before the IPL 2023 Auction. At the IPL 2022 Auction, Delhi Capitals paid a record-breaking fee of Rs 10.75 crore to acquire Thakur.
“Aman Khan is one that has really impressed us, and we traded Shardul (Thakur) with KKR to get him in, and he has been ultra-impressive, and I don’t know how much you have seen of him and his last couple of days at training has been pretty special,” Ponting said.
On the other hand, the Tasmanian asserted that other team members would step up to fill the power-hitting role left vacant in the middle of the order by the absence of Rishabh Pant, who will be sidelined for the majority of 2023. “So when we are talking about losing some power in middle-order, Aman Khan, Rovman Powell and someone like Axar Patel, whose batting has improved a lot in the last 12 months, we will find ways to cover for Rishabh, but we will not get same quality player,” Ponting further said.
