India vs New Zealand 2023
Watch: Chahal TV turns into a laugh-riot as Kuldeep Yadav failed to give ‘Kebab Party’ to Indian team
Fans got treated with a low-scoring thriller between India and New Zealand in the second T20I in Lucknow on Sunday. After calling it correctly at the toss New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner opted to bat first. The decision, however, backfired on New Zealand as they failed to adapt to the slow surface in Lucknow. As a result, they managed to post just 99/8 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, India also struggled throughout their innings and managed to chase down the target on the penultimate ball of the match.
Suryakumar Yadav was the top scorer from India who remained unbeaten on 26 off 31 balls and was also awarded ‘Player of the Match’ as India won by six wickets. After the game, Suryakumar was interviewed by the spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep, first of all, praised Yuzvendra Chahal who became the highest wicket-taker for India in T20Is and asked for his thoughts on his achievement.
“It always feels good when you do well for India and become the highest wicket-taker in a particular format. I never thought that I will be able to achieve this when I made by T20I debut. It felt great,” said Chahal.
Yuzvendra Chahal picked up one wicket in the match giving away just four runs in his two overs. He gave India their first strike as he cleaned up Finn Allen who was also his 91st victim in T20Is. The 32-year-old surpassed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to become the highest wicket-taker for India in the T20I format.
However, Kuldeep interrupted Chahal who didn’t even complete his statement and began asking a question to Surykumar. The batting sensation asked him to let Chahal complete first and advised him to not throw a barrage of questions at them. The trio had a great laugh about the chaos that ensued in the middle of the conversation.
I have taught you to play 370 degrees: Yuzvendra Chahal
Following the hysterical confusion, Chahal once again donned the interviewer’s hat on his famous ‘Chahal TV’ and hilariously asked the Mumbai batter if he had taken inspiration by watching the wrist spinner’s Ranji Trophy batting videos.
“I have taught you to play 370 degrees, but this was a very different wicket, Did you watch my red-ball video at the Ranji Trophy?,” Chahal asked.
Responding to Chahal’s query, Suryakumar admitted that the star spinner is indeed his batting coach and also credited spinner Chahal for his batting tips. “Actually, I kept in mind what you had taught me in the last series. And I would like you to teach me more about batting and how I can improve. Viewers please listen carefully, mazaak mein mat lena (don’t take it as a joke), our brother is the batting coach here. He teaches me everything,” Suryakumar added.
After Suryakumar, the spotlight turned to the local boy Kuldeep Yadav. Chahal asked for a Kebab treat from Kuldeep who replied by saying ‘I’ve already booked it for tomorrow’s lunch.
