Speaking about the match, earlier, the Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and invited the Jamaica Tallawahs to bat first. Notably, after being sent to bat, Brandon King’s side posted 154/8 in the given 20 overs. Great middle-order batter Imad Wasim hammered 62 runs from 33 balls while featuring six boundaries and three sixes with a decent strike of 188. Later, while chasing, Pollard’s side had a great start as star opener Martin Guptill remained unbeaten with 53 runs to make sure his side crossed the finish line. I thought it was really good from our bowlers: Kieron Pollard

Meanwhile, after the great win, Trinbago Knight Riders skipper Kieron Pollard expressed his happiness. The former West Indies skipper lauded the bowlers for their great bowling spells, which helped them restrict Jamaica to just 154 runs. In addition, the 36-year-old cricketer was happy with his decision to play 14 overs of spin during the play.

“The way the guys went about it, especially in the first half. Being able to bowl 14 overs of spin against this attack, I thought it was really good from our bowlers. Restricting them to 154, we would have taken that any day. (Bowling a lot of spin) It was more the conditions and more how our team is structured and made up. Having that left-hander batting in the powerplay and he (Amir Jangoo) not going after left-arm spin just encouraged me to go with the spinners a bit longer,” Kieron Pollard said during the post-match presentation.
