Watch: Funny banter between Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard over the most successful team in IPL

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their fifth IPL title on Tuesday after defeating the defending champions Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in a breathtaking final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this, CSK have also equaled the record of their arch-rivals, Mumbai Indians for most IPL titles.

Both CSK and MI now have now won 5 IPL titles each, which are most by any franchise in IPL. CSK won their first title in 2010 by defeating MI in the final. Post that, they went on to win in 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. MI, on the other hand, defeated CSK in the final to win their first title in 2013. After that, they added four more titles in their bag in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020, defeating CSK in the final again in 2015 and 2019.

However, a couple of days after a thrilling final, CSK bowling coach Dwayne Bravo had a hilarious banter with his Caribbean teammate and MI’s batting coach Kieron Pollard as they both were debating over the ‘Most successful franchise in IPL.’ Bravo shared a video on his social media with Pollard where he asked the fans to settle this debate.

Pollard welcomed Bravo in a five-time Champion club

Notably, Bravo and Pollard have been crucial as players for their respective franchises throughout the years. After their retirement, both players continued to contribute to the team in coaching duties. In a video, it can be seen that Pollard began the banter by asking Bravo how it feels to become a five-time champion as the former MI all-rounder has already experienced this three years ago.

After that, Bravo came up with a hilarious reply by saying that Pollard hadn’t experienced winning the title both as a player and a coach. Going further in their overall success in franchise cricket, Bravo said that he has 17 titles, while Pollard has only 15.

“Talking about franchise cricket, I have 17 trophies. How many do you have?” Bravo asked. Pollard said tha the hasn’t kept the count.

“Can someone help me settle this debate @kieron.pollard55 believes that his team is the most successful IPL team @chennaiipl is the most successful IPL team. Furthermore, he @kieron.pollard55 wants to talk about trophies @kieron.pollard55 you are still on #15 #sirchampion,” Bravo captioned the video.
