WATCH: Gautam Gambhir opens up after Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq end their spat during IND vs AFG ODI World Cup clash

India won their second match of the ODI World Cup 2023 against Afghanistan, at Arun Jaitely Stadium, New Delhi. Rohit Sharma broke several records while chasing a target of 273 runs. Virat Kohli was seen exchanging some good words with Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq and the duo seemed to have forgotten the spat during a match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Former India batter Gautam Gambhir was also in the spat during the IPL he has given his view after the former skipper and Naveen were hugging each other. The two videos have gone viral on social media.

The former India skipper played a brilliant knock under pressure in the first match against Australia when India was struggling at 2/3. He and KL Rahul made sure that India was over the line against the five-time World Champions. Kohli scored 85 runs in that chase of 200 runs. In the second match also he scored 55 runs off 56 balls.

The Afghan pacer came over to Kohli and they shook hands. They then hugged each other as the former India captain gave a pat on his back. The duo then gave a thumbs-up to each other. Kohli stopped the fans from mocking Naveen. When he was coming in to bowl, the crowd erupted with chants of “Kohli, Kohli” almost every time.

Here are the two videos:

You fight on the field, not off the field: Gautam Gambhir

Gambhir said, “You fight on the field, not off the field. Every player has the right to fight for his team, fight for respect, and fight to win. It doesn’t matter which country you belong to or how good of a player you are. The good thing was when we saw Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq in between the overs, we can see that the fight has ended.”

After the game, Naveen was asked about Kohli and the nice moment they shared. The player said, “He is a nice guy, a good player and we shook hands. It’s always in the ground, it was nothing outside the ground. People make it big. They need that stuff for their followers. He said we are done with that and I said yes we are done with it. We shook hands and hugged.”

Rohit Sharma on Wednesday became the first Indian to score seven World Cup hundreds, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s six World Cup records during the match. He broke the record of Kapil Dev’s fastest ODI century for India in World Cup history as he scored the ton in 63 balls.
