Watch: Heated altercation between Soumya Sarkar and Towhid Hridoy after batter backs away too late in BPL 2023

The current season’s eighth game of the Bangladesh Premier League was quite entertaining. On-strike batter Towhid Hridoy and Dhaka bowler Soumya Sarkar got into a verbal argument during the second innings. These two players got into an argument when the Strikers were struggling at 58/1 in the eighth over of the second innings.

The on-strike hitter, Towhid Hridoy, walked away from the wicket as the right-arm speedster who had been summoned into the attack took his runup. Sarkar, however, delivered and broke the leg stump with pace on the side. The two stared at one another before speaking briefly in the center.

However, the youthful hitter was dealt an unpleasant blow during Tuesday’s (January 10) match against the Dhaka Dominators. The 22-year-old has eight stitches and is supposed to take two weeks off.

In the present Bangladesh Premier League, the 22-year-old cricketer from Bangladesh has been in outstanding form. He has 195 runs scored in three innings, a 65 batting average, and a 166.66 strikeout-to-walk ratio. After Tamim Iqbal, he is the only hitter from Bangladesh to score three straight hundreds.

Speaking of the game, the Sylhet Strikers won the eighth game of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League on Tuesday (January 10). In the seventh BPL 2023 game, the Nasir Hossain-captained Dhaka Dominators won the toss and decided to bat first. The captain’s (44) innings, which was well supported by wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Mithun (42) in the middle, helped his team total 139/10.
