Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) won by 7 wickets against the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in Qualifier 1 of the CPL 2023 on Wednesday. One of the highlights of the game among many noteworthy incidents was one that Kieron Pollard’s men would not want to look back on. Notably, there was a huge mix-up between two TKR fielders while taking the catch cost Odean Smith’s wicket during the play. Following the same, bowler Terrance Hinds and skipper Pollard look disappointed.

Speaking of the match, it was the Trinbago Knight Riders who won the toss and invited the Amazon Warriors to bat first. After being sent to bat first, Imran Tahir’s side posted 166 runs in the given 20 overs. Later, while chasing, star opener Walton remains unbeaten with 80 runs and makes sure his side crosses the finishing line to reach the final of the CPL 2023.

Following the win, skipper Kieron Pollard expressed his happiness while hailing the fantastic bowling performance of his team. The batting all-rounder feels their play and execution made them win the game. In addition, the right-handed batsman feels Imran Tahir’s side was 20–25 runs short, which allowed them to chase down the target easily. The 36-year-old cricketer also hailed the performance of Walton for his unbeaten knock in the absence of Martin Guptill. Moreover, the Trinidad-born cricketer is excited to know who will be playing the final game against them, and the great cricketer wants to continue this winning momentum ahead of the final games.

“The way we planned and executed was superb. The bowling unit delivered entirely. The message was simple to the batters. We knew they were 20-25 runs short. Walton got an opportunity after Guptill’s absence and scored a crucial knock. Would be interesting to see who we play in the finals. Will give us enough time to enjoy this win. We will take the next 24 hours to bask in the glory of this win. Will like to thank the crowd.
