Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, India’s stalwart batsman, Virat Kohli, expressed his emotions about this special occasion. In addition, the star cricketer feels proud of the nation for what it has accomplished since Independence. Moreover, the dashing batter feels pride when the national anthem begins. Furthermore, the Delhi-born cricketer shared that their city always flies Kites on this special day and prepares a lot for the same one day before to make this day very memorable.

“I feel proud of what we have achieved as a nation after Independence. On most Independence days, I have been playing matches or hoisting the flag. When the national anthem plays, it is a moment of pride. In Delhi, there is a culture of flying kites on the day and hence during my growing up years that used to be very special. We used to prepare a lot the night before. Usually on Independence Day, it used to be windy in Delhi,” Virat Kohli said in the video shared by Star Sports.

For me, it’s all the more special because it’s my father’s birthday: Virat Kohli

In addition, the stylish right-handed batter affirmed that this day is more special for him as it marks his father’s birthday along with Independence Day. “Independence Day is the most important day in the history of our country. Especially with the way it’s celebrated in India and so much happening around it. For me, it’s all the more special because it’s my father’s birthday. It was all the more special because both occasions were celebrated,” he added further.
