WATCH: Jay Shah hails Indian women’s Cricket Team for creating history by clinching gold medal at Asian Games 2023
Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah was recently seen at the launch of an initiative aimed at empowering young individuals as well as focusing on women’s empowerment. Notably, the cricket administrator once again talks about empowering women and highlights the great moments of the Indian Cricket Board that contributed towards women’s empowerment.
The 35-year-old once again talks about the equal pay of men and women in Indian cricket. In addition, Jay Shah reveals that, after their great decision, some other boards have also kept equal pay for men and women, including sports other than cricket as well. Jay Shah also urges cricket fans to not only watch the matches but to enjoy and participate during the ODI World Cup 2023.
“BCCI introduced pay parity for men and women. After our decision, US Open Tennis, the English Cricket Board, and ICC did a pay parity for men and women. BCCI has undertaken several initiatives to promote gender equality in the world of cricket. As we gear up for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, I urge all the young students to not only watch the game but also actively participate and enjoy them,” Jay Shah said.

Meanwhile, the secretary once again lauded the Indian women’s team for winning the gold medal in Hangzhou, China, at the Asian Games 2023. Notably, the Harmanpreet Kaur side posted a narrow score of 117 runs in the given 20 overs. However, the Women in Blue easily defended the target and were finished on top, which brought glory to the nation.
“First of all I want to congratulate you for winning gold in Asian Games,” he added further.
Earlier, Jay Shah heaped praise on Indian women cricket for bringing a proud moment to the nation following their victory against Sri Lanka on September 25. “The Indian Women’s Cricket team wins gold at the #AsianGames with a dominant win over Sri Lanka, led by 18-year-old sensation Titas Sadhu’s bowling brilliance (3 for 6). Congratulations to the team and support staff for this historic achievement! @BCCIWomen,” Jay Shah wrote on X.
