WATCH: Kuldeep Yadav dismisses Alex Carey with gem of a delivery in series decider against Australia

Australia’s captain Steve Smith chose to bat first against India in the series decider at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai after winning the toss. India made no changes to their team, while Australia made two changes. Ashton Agar and David Warner came in place of Cameron Green and Nathan Ellis respectively.

In Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the first One-Day International between the two teams was played after India successfully defended its Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Men in Blue easily exceeded the 188-run mark that the Australians had set to win by five wickets. Nevertheless, their joy was only short as Australia won the second one-day international to tie the series by first dismissing India for 117 in Visakhapatnam and then successfully chasing it down without losing a wicket.

On the first ball of the 39th over, Kuldeep Yadav bowled peech of a delivery on which the Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey. Carey was stuck on his crease on which he tried to defend the ball with an open stance but he failed to do so and the ball went on to hit the off-stump.

Indian bowlers gave their team advantage in third ODI

Batting first the Kangaroos were bundled out for 269 runs. The top scorer for them was 47 runs off as many balls he played in his innings with eight fours and a six. Care scored 38 runs off 46 balls with two fours and a six. Travis Head, and Marnus Labuschange also played crucial knocks for the side.

For the hosts, the pick of the bowlers were Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav as both them snapped three wickets each in their spells. Where one side Pandya conceded 44 runs in his eight overs on the other hand Kuldeep conceded 56 runs in his 10 over with one maiden over.

Two wickets were grabbed by other Indian bowlers, Mohammad Siraj and Axar Patel in their spells. Siraj gave away only 37 runs in his seven overs while on the other side, Axar gave away 57 runs in his eight overs.
