WATCH: MCC President Stephen Fry’s emotional reaction to England’s ‘stunning’ Test victory against Pakistan
England emerged victorious in the last session of the play on Day 5. England set a target of 343 for Pakistan. During the chase, the latter got all out for 268 runs and they lost the match by 74 runs. The top performer from the bat in the fourth innings was Saud Shakeel who hit 76 runs with the help of 12 fours.
The star bowlers for the English side were their pacers James Anderson and Ollie Robinson with four wickets each. Robinson was adjudged the Man of the Match for his performance with the ball. Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) President Stephen Fry got excited after England’s brilliant victory against Pakistan. The MCC recorded Fry’s reaction to the last over.
“If it’s not out, there’s five minutes gone isn’t it out of the game? Oh my goodness. Here we go. Oh, that’s got to be out surely. I mean leh stump, but not missing leg surely. No Bat. Oh Jack (Leach), he’s got his glasses on. Are they steaming up? Oh, it’s like extracting teeth, come on! Come on, technology. Here We go! Yes,” said Fry in the video.

Test Cricket needs to stay around: Ben Stokes
Fry applauded the England Test skipper Ben Stokes and said: “Oh Glory! What a piece of captaincy the declaration was. Oh, Ben Stokes! Stunning Captaincy! Wow, go Ben. That is exquisite. I don’t think any other captain in cricket would have won that Test match.”
The fearless intent of playing Cricket in the Test has helped England to win their last seven games out of the eight games they played since last summer when Brendon McCullum took over as coach and Stokes as captain.
“It (test cricket) needs to stay around and we’ll do everything we possibly can as a team to keep it alive,” Stokes said on Monday after England outsmarted Pakistan by 74 runs in the first test on a flat pitch at Pindi Cricket Stadium. If you’re brave enough and willing enough to go out and play in that way, even if you lose a game, it’s going to be entertaining.”
