WATCH: Mumbai Franchise release new anthem ahead of Indian T20 League season

The Mumbai franchise have released a new anthem for the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League. The video features the stars of the Mumbai franchise including Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan and also features the legend Sachin Tendulkar and the owner of the franchise Neeta Ambani.

What does the new anthem feature and how have the fans reacted to it?

 

The song is featured around the iconic Bollywood song ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ and showcases the iconic things which Mumbai is famous for. It shows the Mumbai players eating Vadapav at a stall outside the ground and the iconic tune in the background. 

Fans on social media had mixed emotions about this song as some of them felt that the previous one was better. ‘Duniya Hila Denge hum’ was the anthem of the team since the inaugural season and is still in the hearts and minds of Mumbai fans across the whole world and is still sung to date.

The other fans felt that the new anthem ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ depicts more about the city and showcases more emotion than the previous one. By including the scenes for which Mumbai is famous, the new anthem is an instant hit according to them and can be an anthem they can keep for years to come. 

ITL Champions on five occasions, Mumbai have started preparing for the next ITL 2023 season. Prior to the season, the squad conducted their first outdoor practice, which included fieldwork and a strength and fitness assessment. Players, the coaching staff, and the support staff have all begun to arrive.

Along with the international squad members including Dewald Brevis and Duan Jansen, the first practice featured Indian players Nehal Wadhera, Arjun Tendulkar, Raghav Goyal, Vishnu Vinod, Akash Madhwal, Shams Mulani Piyush Chawla, Tilak Varma, Hrithik Shokeen, Kumar Kartikeya Singh, Mohd Arshad Khan and Ramandeep Singh.

Mumbai is set to play their first match in the upcoming Indian T20 League season against Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy stadium on April 2. It remains to be seen whether Mumbai can continue their streak of losing their initial games at the start of every season or not.
