WATCH: Neymar suffers horrific injury during World Cup qualifying game against Uruguay

Neymar had to be carried out injured to leave the Brazilian team and its fans worried. To make matters worse, Uruguay soundly beat the Brazil team by 2-0 margin. It is not only a huge blow for the Samba team but also for Al-Hilal FC who are set to enter a busy few weeks of domestic action.

After the fourth round of games, Argentina sit at the top of the table with 12 points from 4 games. Uruguay have moved into the second spot over the Brazilians with both teams having 7 points from 4 games.

Venezuela is also joint second with 7 points from four games as only the goal difference separates the three teams. There is also setback for Neymar fans in India who were waiting to watch the master in action on the 5th of November.

Neymar injured in game against Uruguay

31-year-old Brazilian star Neymar left the field in tears during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The injury occurred in the dying moments of the 1st half when he had a fall during the game.

There was a moment of silence during the game as the medical team came out to attend to Neymar. He was instantly carried out of the field and a change was bought into place. One could see the 31-year-old in pain as he was seen crying while being carried off the field.

The Brazilian medical team hasn’t come out and spoken about the severity of Neymar’s injury. It is believed the doctors are going to wait and watch before passing their verdict on the injury suffered by the star player.

Neymar with Al-Hilal FC was supposed to play in India during the AFC Champions League against Mumbai City FC on November 5. That now has been thrown into huge doubt after the injury suffered by the 31-year-old.

Casemiro the national skipper came out and said “Let’s hope it’s nothing serious. He’s an important player for us and we are very fond of him. It’s disheartening to see him suffer so frequently from injuries just as he starts to gain momentum”.

Darwin Nunez gave the home team the lead in the 42nd minute with a fine finish. The game was all over in the 77th minute when Nicolas De La Cruz got Uruguay its second goal of the game. The home supporters were delighted as they moved to number two in the table. Neymar though saw the positive and wrote on his social media “God knows everything, no matter what I have faith”
