Rahkeem Cornwall scored a sensational hundred in the CPL 2023 against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. After scoring a hundred, Cornwall celebrated with a bat drop gesture, which caught the attention of the fans. The brilliant knock of Cornwall helped Barbados Royals to beat the Patriots by 8 wickets with 11 balls to spare chasing a target of 221, which is an incredible feat. 

On a fantastic batting surface in Bridgetown, the Patriots skipper Sherfane Rutherford won the toss and elected to bat first. The Patriots batted well in their 20 overs. With the help of Andre Fletcher’s 56(37), Will Smeed’s 63(36), and Rutherford’s 65(27), the Patriots managed to score 220 runs in their 20 overs. Qais Ahmad bowled a good economical spell. Cornwall performed well with the ball as well. 

Sensational All-round performance from Rahkeem Cornwall

On a good batting surface, the 30-year-old bowled 3 overs, claimed 2 wickets, and conceded only 27 runs. The off-spinner’s spell restricted the Patriots to 220 on a very good batting surface. Chasing the target of 221, it was Cornwall’s show with the bat. The aggressive batter smashed the bowlers of the Patriots for dun. There was no stopping Cornwall against the Patriots. 

In his stay in the middle, the opener faced 48 balls and scored 102 runs, which included 4 boundaries and 12 massive sixes. On completing his hundred, Cornwall let out the bat drop celebration. Throughout the match, it seemed as if the Antigua-born cricketer could do nothing wrong. In fact, Cornwall did nothing wrong against the Patriots, which led to a fruitful day for the Royals.  

At one point in time, the Royals were 181/2 after 14.1 overs, which just shows how brutal and clinical the Royals were in the run chase. As Cornwall let out his celebration, Rovman Powell congratulated his fellow teammate. The fans in the strand took a bow to the great performance of Cornwall. Towards the end, the Royals won the match by 8 wickets, which looked like a comfortable chase. It was a great All-round performance from Cornwall.
