Watch: Rahul Dravid caught on camera doing a strange gesture after India’s win over New Zealand in second ODI
Team India cruised to a comfortable win over New Zealand in the second ODI in Raipur as they won the match by 8 wickets and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. After opting to bowl first, the Indian pace attack led by Mohammed Shami bundled out New Zealand for 108 and set up the game nicely for the Indian batters who chased down the target comfortably in 20.1 overs. Following India’s emphatic win, head coach Rahul Dravid was spotted doing a strange gesture in the ground.
In a video, widely shared on social media, Dravid can be seen doing a ‘ninja’ gesture. He’s seen moving both of his hands in the video, it seemed he was premeditating some shot. Veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle, who was commentating during the game, said seeing Dravid’s gesture, “Try and decode that for us.”

Coming back to the match, the ‘Men-in-Blue’ were all over the Kiwis as their batters were left searching for answers against hostile bowling by the Indian pace attack. Indian bowlers were relentless as New Zealand were left reeling at 15/5 after 10.3 overs.
Mohammed Shami was the most successful bowler from India as he picked up 3/18 in 6 overs. He got the prized scalps of Finn Allen, Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell, who gave a mighty scare to India in the first ODI with his knock of 140 off 78 balls. Hardik Pandya also picked up 2/16 in his six. He first took a sharp low catch to dismiss the in-form batter Devon Conway and later cleaned up Mitchell Santner.
Glenn Phillips was the highest scorer for New Zealand with his knock of 36 off 52 balls.
In reply to New Zealand’s total, India chased down the target of 109 in 20.1 overs. Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored a magnificent half-century as he was dismissed for 51 off 50 balls while Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 40.
