Watch : Rinku Singh does the unthinkable as he hits 5 sixes in final over to win KKR the match against GT

In a thrilling last-over victory over Gujarat Titans, Rinku Singh of the Kolkata Knight Riders performed something unbelievable against Gujarat Titans by smashing five consecutive sixes and scoring 48 runs in just 21 runs. Khan, who was heading the reigning champions in place of the ill Hardik Pandya, nearly won the game for his team by recording the first hat trick of IPL 2023. Rashid removed Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shardul Thakur in quick succession, but Rinku had other plans.

When Yash Dayal delivered the final over, 29 runs were needed off of just six balls, which appeared to be a bit much. However, Rinku hit five consecutive sixes, turning the game around, and the two-time champions KKR won in a spectacular fashion. The Titans seemed to be sailing to an easy victory when Rinku Singh radically altered the game’s outcome. Rashid had earlier chosen to bat first after winning the toss. Shubman Gill alongside Wriddhiman Saha provided a strong foundation for their team. Before Saha left, the GT openers had scored 33 runs, and Gill had kept going.

The vibrant player struck 39 runs as Sai Sudharsan added 50 runs to keep the scoreboard moving, and then Vijay Shankar came through with a 63-run performance in 24 balls. In order to help his team to a score of 204/4, Shankar hit three consecutive sixes against Shardul Thakur. The successful pursuit of a 200-plus score was a first for IPL 2023. The Kolkata Knight Riders were 28/2 in a challenging chase after losing early wickets, although Venkatesh Iyer restored his team hope.

In the 205-run chase against Gujarat Titans, Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana helped Kolkata Knight Riders recover from early setbacks. Both Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Narayan Jagadeesan left the team prematurely and inexpensively. However, Iyer and the captain had formed a third-wicket partnership and kept up the necessary run rate.

However, the Kolkata captain gave in under pressure to chase down the enormous target and surrendered his wicket to Alzaari Joseph while attempting to add more boundaries for his team. Still at the crease, Venkatesh Iyer was getting the crucial boundaries. Iyer left the game after 40 balls for a score of 83, while Joseph took the prize wicket.
