Watch: Rishabh Pant does an ‘MS Dhoni’; removes bails in split seconds to dismiss Nurul Hasan

The Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh team are competing against team India in the first Test that got underway on December 14, Wednesday and on Day 4, the Bangla Tigers managed to give a tough fight chasing a target of 513. At stumps, Shakib and Mehidy Hasan remained unbeaten at 40 and 9 as Bangladesh were reeling at 272/6.

Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper, produced an epic stumping to remove the Bangla Tigers wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan for just 3 runs, playing a vital role in team India’s comeback towards the end of the day. Collecting the quick delivery off Axar Patel’s over, Pant proved his fast reflexes as he clamped the stumps in quick time to bag the scalp for India.

Bangladesh produce tough fight on Day 4 of first Test

As things stand, when the least expected, the Bangla Tigers gave a tough fight against the mighty opponents and at the end of the day, the match looked poised although one could argue that the Indian team had an edge over Shakib and his men as a wicket early in the morning could bring the tail in. However, the Bangladeshi batters were unwilling to give up on the task and on the back of the same, Zakir Hasan scored a century before Ravichandran Ashwin removed him off the crease.

While many predicted that the Bangla Tigers would collapse before the stumps, much to the stupefaction of the fans, they remained unbeaten and were 241 runs away from the win, with fans opining that either of the teams could clinch the win. However, it would be a mighty ask for Shakib and Mehidy to chase down all of themselves given that they have a weak tail order.

If at all Bangladesh manage to pull off the win, it would be the start of a new era and a nightmare for team India who already are struggling to get things sorted post the conclusion of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
