Sanju Samson’s outside chance in T20s

Sanju Samson last played for India in the three-match ODI series against South Africa where he smashed a terrific century in the 3rd ODI and took India out of a tricky situation to win the series against South Africa. Sanju Samson who was not considered to be in the Indian team’s scheme of things for the T20 World Cup has made a comeback in the three-match home series against Afghanistan.

Virat Kohli has opted out of the first T20 against Afghanistan due to his daughter’s birthday which opens up Sanju Samson’s chances to feature in the playing XI against Afghanistan and if he performs well in the series followed by the IPL, then he can be in contention for the wicketkeeper spot in the Indian side for the T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and the US in June.
