Watch: Virat Kohli, Jadeja break into SRK’s ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ hook step during 1st Test against Australia
India made a dominating start in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as they beat Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the first test at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. The opening Test wrapped in just two and a half days.
Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first on the first day. However, the poor performance from the batters cost the visitors a lot as they were bundled out for 177 in the first innings. India, in their first innings, scored a mammoth 400 to take a 223 lead.
Australia, in their second innings, only managed to score 91 runs as the hosts were victorious in the first Test of the four-match series. With the win, India took an early 1-0 which also increased their chances of making the World Test Championship final.
On the third day of the first Test, the Indian players were in a relaxed mode during the innings break. It was seen that the former India captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who were standing along with their teammates, were showing off their dance moves.
While waiting for Australia’s second innings to get started, Kohli was seen attempting Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ hook step from his new movie ‘Pathan’. Jadeja also joined him.

Australia was brutally damaged by the Indian bowlers in both of their innings. They bundled out for just 91 runs in their second innings as they lost their key wickets too early. Veteran India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin claimed five wickets in Australia’s second innings to make it a total of 8 in the first Test.
Aswin picked wickets of Australia batters Usman Khawaja, David Warner, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb and Alex Carey to complete a five-wicket haul. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, who picked five-wickets in Australia’s first innings, picked two in the next innings. It was Ashwin’s 31st five-wicket-haul for India in Test cricket. With this, he equaled India legend Anil Kumble’s spectacular Test record and went past Harbhajan Singh’s elusive tally. The second Test is scheduled to be held in Delhi on February 17.
