On the eve of Bangalore’s Indian T20 League 2023 opener against Mumbai on Sunday night, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell showed their bromance during net practice. In the practice area, Maxwell was seen delivering to Kohli.

While Maxwell spoke to Kohli following every ball, the former skipper of India appeared to be in no trouble during the session. Following a few compliments, Maxwell informed Kohli that he had altered the length of the delivery because he had seen Kohli approach the track earlier than expected. I cannot play any better, Kohli said, adding that it is humorous.

Banglore is once again trying to win the league for the first time and would like to get off to a good start in front of their devoted supporters at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium right after recording three straight victories against Mumbai in the five most recent encounters since the start of Indian T20 League 2020.

While Rajat Patidar and Josh Hazlewood have both been ruled out for the initial matches of this Indian T20 League due to injuries, it is unclear how Bangalore will function without them. Glenn Maxwell, the Australian, is also doubtful to play on Sunday after still recovering from his double leg fracture. Will Jacks will have to skip the entire season due to injury, it will be interesting to see how Maxwell performs after missing Australia’s last two ODIs against India in the latest series shortly after completing the first game in Mumbai.

The Bangalore franchise has signed Michael Bracewell, New Zealand spin-bowling all-rounder, to substitute Will Jacks, who will not be participating in the Indian T20 League 2023 due to an injury sustained while on a tour with England in Bangladesh. Jacks was one of the first major purchases of the Bangalore franchise in the last Indian T20 League auction and cost INR 3.2 crore. Bracewell, however, will sign with Bangalore for his INR 1 crore base auction fee.
