‘The masters of magic bowling are back’ – Fans react as West Indies beat Australia by 8 runs in 2nd Test to script history at Gabba in Brisbane

The West Indies won the second Test match by 8 runs against Australia and levelled up the two matches of the Test series by 1-1 on January 28 at the Gabba in Brisbane. Notably, the hosts emerged victorious in the first Test match by 10 wickets, but they failed to win the series against the Windies.

Speaking about the game here, it was the West Indies skipper who won the toss and invited the hosts to field first. Notably, after being opted to bat first, the Windies had an awful start as they were reduced to 65/5 in the first inning. However, despite losing early wickets, they posted a massive total of 311 runs on the board and bundled out Australia for just 289 runs in the first inning.

Meanwhile, the West Indies failed to continue the great momentum, and they could only manage to get 193 runs before being bowled out during the second innings of the game, and the target was just 216 runs for the home side. However, the Windies were too good with their bowling attack, as they bundled out Australia for 207 runs.

Tears are coming in my eyes but I already cried when I took the five-wicket haul: Shamar Joseph

Meanwhile, Shamar Joseph was the star of the game as he dismantled the Australia batting line-up after picking up seven wickets in the second inning. The star bowler expressed his happiness after his side was able to win the Test match against the tough home side.

“Shout out for my teammates for their support. I wasn’t even going to come to the ground today. But thanks to the doctor, he did something to my toe. It was just our positivity, taking wickets after wickets. Sticking to our basics, just stuck to the top of off-stump. I really do, I really feel we have won the series, it’s 1-1 but it feels like we have won it. Tears are coming in my eyes but I already cried when I took the five-wicket haul,” Shamar Joseph said after the win.
