‘What a dominant performance’ – Fans react as India thrash West Indies with 200-run win; clinch series 2-1
India clinched the third and final ODI against West Indies by 200 runs at Brain Lara Cricket Academy. After a poor showing with the bat in the second ODI, India displayed a tremendous performance in the series decider and clinched the series 2-1. Notably, India made two changes: Ruturaj Gaikwad and Jaydev Unadkat made their way into the squad over Axar Patel and Umran Malik.
Earlier, West Indies skipper Shai Hope won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first. Put into bat first, Team India has a good start, as their openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan smashed 77 and 85 runs, respectively. Notably, Ruturaj Gaikwad cheaply departed with eight runs. Later, Sanju Samson and Hardik shared a fantastic partnership. Following this, Suryakumar Yadav also hammered 35 runs, and in the end, stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya’s knock of 70 runs helped them post a massive total of 351/5 in the given 50 overs.
Later, while chasing, the home team had a miserable start as their openers, King and Mayers, departed cheaply for 0 and 4, respectively. Athanaze hammered 32 runs and was looking in a great position. Following this, skipper Hope, Carty, Hetmyer, and Shepherd all departed for single-digit runs. Later, Joseph and Motie scored 19 and 39 runs, respectively, before getting all out.
I look forward to these kinds of games as a captain: Pandya
Notably, the Shai Hope-led West Indies were all out for 151 runs while handing a great win to the Hardik Pandya-led side to win the series 2-1. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan was named Player of the Series, while Shubman Gill received Player of the Match following the magnificent win.
Stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya shared happiness while calling this win a special one. “It’s a special win. To be honest, I look forward to these kinds of games as a captain where there is something on the line. This was more than an international game. We knew what was at stake and there would be a lot of disappointment if we lost. The boys showed great character,” Pandya said during the post-match presentations.

Doesn't care about bilaterals anymore, you need to win the world cup to show dominance, not a series against a team which couldn't qualify for it .
