Wimbledon 2023 Final: Record-breaker Novak Djokovic will take on world number one Carlos Alcaraz in title clash

lcarazDefending Champion Novak Djokovic is all set to take on the World number one Carlos Alcaraz for the Wimbledon 2023 final on Sunday, 16th July. Djokovic started off the campaign with a win over Pedro Cachin by 6-3, 6-3, 7-6(4). After that, he defeated Jordan Thompson by 6-3, 7-6(4), 7-5, followed by the 6-3, 6-1, 7-6(5) win over Stan Wawrinka before defeating 17th-seed Hubert Hurkacz 7-6(6), 7-6(6), 5-7, 6-4 to book his place in the quarterfinals.

In the Quarter Finals, Djokovic defeated the seventh seed Andrey Rublev by 6-3, 6-3, 7-6(4) to get into the top four where he registered a 6-3, 6-4, 7-4 win Jannik Sinner to book his spot for the title clash on Sunday. The Serbian will be playing the 35th Grand Slam final, which is the most by any male or female Tennis Player in the World.

Head-to-Head Clash: Alcaraz vs. Djokovic in the Wimbledon Final

Talking about Alcaraz, he entered the league as World’s number-one player and made an easy outing in his first round against Jeremy Chardy with a 6-0, 6-2, 7-5. After that, he registered another straight-set win over Alexandre Muller, 6-4, 7-6(2), 6-3, to reach the third round, where the 20-year-old defeated Nicolas Jarry 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3, 7-5 to set up a fourth-round clash against Matteo Berrettini. He defeated the Italian by 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 and made it into the quarterfinals.

Alcaraz faced sixth seed Holger Rune in the last eight and defeated him by 7-6(6), 6-4, 6-4 to make it to the semi-finals, where he defeated Daniil Medvedev and registered a 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, to qualify for his first ever Wimbledon final. He will be facing the defending Champion Djokovic for the title encounter.

Talking about the two outings between Djokovic and Alcaraz, the Head-to-Head is currently tied at 1-1. They last met in the French Open semifinals last month, where Djokovic ended up by winning the match by 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1.

It is noted that Djokovic will be the first favourite to win the game considering his past experience and current form. However, Alcaraz also has a great outing this season and is capable of turning the match in his favour if he is at his best.
