WWE RAW set to find new home in 2024 thanks to CM Punk’s return
World Wrestling Entertainment simply known as WWE is set to find its flagship show Monday Night Raw a new home. So far the show has been telecasted on USA Network. If things go as per plan then it may soon be broadcasted on a rival channel.
The move could also spell doom for All Elite Wrestling in the coming year. Tony Khan and his company are also set to enter new negotiations next year for a renewed TV Deal. While AEW has seen its numbers go down in recent times, WWE has been on fire.
CM Punk made his long-awaited return to the company and the numbers have shot up. TV Ratings are on the rise as well and the Merchandise sales are also showing tremendous growth. It is believed CM Punk’s return could play a key role in WWE landing a new TV Deal.
Is Monday Night Raw set to move to a new channel?
For over three decades WWE has broadcasted its Monday Night Raw to worldwide audiences. USA Network has been its home for a long barring a few years of stints with TNN/ SPIKE TV and SCI-FI TV.
As per reports, there is a chance that Warner Brothers could ink a deal with the Endeavor-owned Wrestling giants. There is massive interest from Warner Brothers to get the biggest Wrestling promotion’s flagship show on their channel.
All Elite Wrestling are currently locked in a deal with Warner Brothers and this latest news can worry Tony Khan. The Jacksonville-based promotion has been seeing its numbers in terms of fan attendance and TV Ratings dwindle in the last few months. One other major reason is the exit of CM Punk from AEW.
The 45-year-old Chicago native was fired by AEW just a few months ago due to backstage issues. CM Punk is back in the WWE when he made his return during the 2023 Survivor Series in the town of Chicago.
According to a source, “I think that there will be stuff in the next couple of weeks most likely. It could be the final deal…it could end up with the status quo. It’s not impossible. It could end up with incredible differences. Just got to wait it out and see. The main thing though is WWE and WBD is not a dead deal and it appeared to be a dead deal before. If they take the deal, it would require WBD to spend well over $350 million per year…WBD may not want to go that high anyway.”
