In the 6th match of the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC), MI New York (MINY) beat the LA Knight Riders (LAKR) by 105 runs. In the one-sided game, MINY bowlers dominated the run chase and thrashed them. After putting up 155/8 in 20 overs, MINY bowled out LAKR for just 50 runs in 13.5 overs. This is MINY’s first victory of the season, and they are now second in the points table.

Earlier, after winning the toss, MINY skipper Kieron Pollard opted to bat first. His decision didn’t go well with the team, as they lost wickets at regular intervals. However, with a firm contribution from Tim David and Nicholas Pooran, MI New York posted a competitive total of 155/8 in 20 overs.

Pooran, in his innings, scored 38 runs off 37 balls with the help of four and two sixes. Meanwhile, David scored an unbeaten 48 runs off 21 balls, with four fours and four sixes. For LAKR Ali Khan, Adam Zampa and Corne Dry clinched two wickets each, while Lockie Ferguson took one wicket.

LAKR failed to put up a show against MINY

Chasing a decent total of 155/8, the LA Knight Riders failed to put up a show with the bat. They lost three wickets for just two runs in the first three overs. Starting with opener Martin Guptill, not a single batter looked in a comfortable position. Guptill, Dry, and NR Kumar registered ducks, while apart from Unmukt Chand, not a single batter touched a double-digit score.

Chand, in his innings, scored 26 runs off 26 balls with the help of two fours and a six. For MINY, Nosthush Kenjige, Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada, Ehsan Adil, and skipper Kieron Pollard clinched two wickets each. Boult, Rabada, Pollard, and Adil clinched two wickets in a single over, outplaying the opposition.
