The magnificent performances displayed by the UAE as they won the second T20I match against New Zealand to level the series at 1-1. Initially, UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem won the toss and invited visitors to bat first. Notably, after being sent to bat first, the Black Caps posted 142/8 in the given 20 overs.

Later, while chasing, the home team easily chased down the target with 26 balls to spare during the second T20I. Earlier, the hosts had a good start as their skipper Waseem had scored 55 balls in just 29 balls, featuring four boundaries and three sixes with a solid strike rate of 190, whereas in the end, star middle-order batter Asif Khan hammered an unbeaten 48 runs to guide his team towards the victory to level up the series.

Meanwhile, after the loss, New Zealand skipper Tim Southee expressed his disappointment at the loss in the second T20I. Notably, the great bowler has given credit to the UAE team for their magnificent efforts in the game. In addition, the star cricketer believes anything can happen in the shortest format of the game. Moreover, the right-arm pacer admitted that they didn’t learn from their past mistakes.

Furthermore, the 34-year-old cricketer also lauded UAE captain Waseem and called him a quality player for his great half-century against the Black Caps. In addition, the stylish right-handed batter also says the UAE side was better in all aspects, and the Kiwis will be looking to work during the last match.

“Lot of credit to the UAE team. Anything can happen on a given day in T20 cricket. We didn’t learn from the first game. Dropped catches are a part of the game. Waseem has shown for years he is a quality player. We just need to be better in all three areas. UAE were better in all aspects today,” Tim Southee said during the post-match presentation.
