‘Yeh hai tumhari sstrongest team of the season’ – Fans go berserk after SRH falied to chase 145 runs against DC in IPL 2023 clash

Delhi Capitals registered their second consecutive victory in IPL 2023 after five back-to-back losses as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 runs in a low-scoring thriller at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in match number 34 of the season. While, on the other hand, SRH lost their third consecutive match of the season. Batting first, DC posted a total of 144 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. In reply, SRh could only reach 137 for 6 in their 20 overs.

DC didn’t have a great start as they lost Phil Salt for a golden duck in the very first over of the match by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. After that, skipper David Warner and Mitchell Marsh tried to take the innings further by adding 38 runs for the second wicket. Marsh got out in the fifth over after scoring 25 runs 15 balls scoring five boundaries.

After that, DC went on to lose three wickets in the eight over bowled by Washington Sundar as they lost Warner, Sarfaraz Khan and Aman Hakim Khan. After that, Axar Patel and Manish Pandey helped DC to recover from the series of wickets by putting up a partnership of 69 runs for the sixth wicket.

Patel got out in the 18th over a run-a-ball 34 runs hitting four boundaries, as Bhuvneshwar struck again to take his second wicket by clearing the stumps of the left-handed batter. In the very next over, Pandey also lost his wicket in a form of a run out after scoring 34 off 27 with two boundaries. DC went on to lose two more wickets in the last over and was restricted below 150 runs.

For SRH, Sundar scalped 3 wickets by conceding 28 runs in his four overs, while Bhuvneshwar took 2 and T. Natarajan put 1 in his bag. SRH now need 145 runs to register their third win in IPL 2023.

SRH choked in a small chase and went on to lose by 7 runs

Chasing the winning total, DC lost Harry Brook on the first ball of the sixth over at the score of 31 runs. After that, Mayank Agarwal and Rahul Tripathi added 37 runs for the second wicket. Tripathi got out in the 12th over after scoring just 15 runs off 21 balls. After that, SRH went on to lose a couple of wickets in short intervals. Mayank got out after scoring 49 runs off 39 balls, hitting seven boundaries.

After that, Heinrich Klassen and Washington Sundar added 41 runs for the sixth as they were looking in good touch to take SRH down the line. But Klassen got out in the penultimate over after scoring 31 off 19 balls with three fours and a maximum. While Sundar remained unbeaten on 24 off 15 scoring three boundaries, it wasn’t enough for his team as they fell short of DC’s total by just 7 runs. For DC, Anirch Nortje and Axar Patel scalped 2-2 wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav and Ishant Sharma picked a wicket each.
