India’s star cricketer Mohammed Siraj registered a 6-wicket haul against Sri Lanka during the last and final match of the Asia Cup 2023 on September 17 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and dismantled the top orders of the home team during the play. Notably, after fifteen overs, Sri Lanka are all out for 50 runs. The right-arm pacer has scalped four wickets in one over before claiming his fifth wicket in the next. However, great all-rounder Hardik Pandya also scalped three wicket.

Notably, the play gets started at around 3:40 PM (IST) after the rain halts the play following the toss. Earlier, Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and invited Team India to field first. After being opted to bat first, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Kusal Perera on the golden duck to give India a powerful start. Following him, the right-arm pacer Siraj got the wickets of Nissanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, and Kusal Mendis.

Intriguingly, star opener Kusal Perera, great batter Sadeera Samarawickrama, all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva, and skipper Dasun Shanaka registered ducks in the final of the Asia Cup 2023, which gives a big boost to Team India’s chances of winning their eighth title. Meanwhile, the home team made just one change in the squad, as Dushan Hemantha got the nod over Maheesh Theekshana, as the star cricketer sustained injuries during the clash against Pakistan in the Super Fours.

In addition, the Men in Blue are the same as in the last clash against Sri Lanka during the Super Fours. Notably, Axar Patel has been ruled out due to injuries and replaced by Washington Sundar. Meanwhile, Team India is considered one of the most successful sides in the Asia Cup after winning the title around seven times. They will be looking to clinch the eighth title as the day also marks India’s skipper Rohit Sharma’s 250th ODI match and 450th international match of his career.
