12 more people arrested by British Police involved in violence post India-Pakistan game

This year, India and Pakistan have played each other three times (twice in Men’s Asia Cup and once in the 20-20 World Cup). For the first time since 2013, both Asian giants played each other this many times. After all, both teams don’t play each other in bilateral cricket due to tense political relations. On the one hand, when India and Pakistan fans have shown sportsman spirit, the other hand saw fighting each other.

On August 28, the Asian neighbors played each other at the Dubai International Stadium. In the game, both sides fought well and in the end, the Men In Blue emerged victorious. After the game, violence among Indian and Pakistani fans erupted in Leicester. Tons of people were injured and some died in the violence. A little more than three months after the unfortunate incident, a total of 47 people have been arrested so far.

In a recent development, 12 more people have been arrested in this connection.

We have been working hard to bring the perpetrators to justice: Rob Arthur

Meanwhile, the Detective Chief Inspector in this case, Rob Arthur has said that the local police are reviewing the related CCTV footage.

“We’ve been working hard behind the scene reviewing the CCTV footage and all the hours of body-worn video from officers who were working and making IDs of those who may be involved,” said Detective Chief Inspector Rob Arthur as quoted by India Today.

“This work has led us to be able to make these arrests and bring these people into custody in order to get their accounts. It’s work that has taken time, due to the nature of it, and it’s work we’ll be continuing to carry out,” he added.
