Prithvi Shaw spotted partying till 6am in Thane, Police seals the lounge
The Mitron Lounge, located in Nehru Nagar within the jurisdiction of the Wagle Estate police station in Thane, was closed on Monday for keeping it open till 6 a.m. Prithvi Shaw, the Indian cricketer, has recently been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The top Delhi Capitals cricketer was recently spotted in that lounge.
According to reports, cricketer Prithvi Shaw was also present at the place at the time. Furthermore, according to accounts, this event occurred after social activist Binu Varghese tweeted about it. According to the tweet, he questioned the authorities about why this club was awarded a special license while all pubs, lounges, and restaurants close by 1:30 a.m.
I tweeted that it has special permission to operate till 6 am: Binu Varghese
However, no specific information is available, although the lounge is sure to have been sealed in accordance with the directives. A tweet from a local social activist sparked the action. Binu Varghese said, “Some around 6 bouncers of the lounge assaulted few customers over petty issues at 6 am. I tweeted that it has special permission to operate till 6 am in the jurisdiction where Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde resides. When the entire orchestra bars, hookah lounges and family bars are closing at 1.30 am then why is special permission given to this lounge.”
He said, “Will State Excise Department take any action against such lounges that fearlessly and carelessly violate the rules and regulations? will senior police officials of Thane take any action.”
Soon after the tweet, the first information report was filed at Wagle Estate police station under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code against Abhijit Patil and his colleague Abhijit Khorgavkar, the lounge’s proprietors, and six bouncers.
R C Birajdar, the inspector of the state excise department, stated, “The lounge has been sealed for violating rules and regulations set up by the government. Also, the case has been registered against the lounge for serving alcohol till the morning.”
