‘Jay sha khatre main hai’- Fans reacts as Ambati Rayudu decides to join politics

After retiring from all forms of Indian cricket, Ambati Rayudu is preparing for his second innings. While Rayudu will continue to play in the Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States, the former India player is set to pursue politics, with intentions to run in the Lok Sabha elections.

Rayudu recently met twice with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is also the leader of the YSRCP. It is unclear which party he intends to join to begin his political career.

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is a big inspiration for youngsters: Ambati Rayudu

According to The Times of India, Jagan wants Rayudu to run in the next round of elections but has yet to determine whether he would run in the assembly or the Lok Sabha. According to the article, senior leaders in the party believe Rayudu should run in the assembly elections from Ponnur or Guntur West, and in the Lok Sabha elections from Machilipatnam. He is said to be interested in standing from Ponnur.

Praising Jagan, the 37-year-old said, “CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is a big inspiration for youngsters entering politics. He is spearheading development in all the regions instead of concentrating on one area.”

Rayudu declared his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket after winning the IPL 2023 with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Rayudu, on the other hand, will continue to play T20 cricket overseas. He is ready to play in the MLC for the Texas Super Kings, a team owned by CSK.

Meanwhile, Rayudu recently alleged in an interview that some people harmed his career. After Rayudu, the Indian wicket-keeper batsman, KS Bharat visited AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Reddy at the latter’s camp office at Tadepalli. According to AP CMO sources, CM Jagan and cricketer Bharat discussed the possibility of developing sports other than cricket in the state.

While Bharat’s meeting was entirely professional, the 37-year-old is still playing hide and seek when it comes to deciding which political party to join.
