‘Doglapan’- Fans reacts as Paris Saint Germain gifts Shubman Gill their official jersey

After the World Test Championship Final (WTC) in London, Team India batting prodigy Shubman Gill visited Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Stadium Parc des Princes. The Indian players have gone on holiday, with no cricket scheduled for them until next month. Gill decided to attend his beloved team’s stadium, Parc des Princes, in Paris. Shubman was also given a number 7 PSG shirt by the Ligue 1 Giants.

Namaste dosto, here’s India’s favourite cricketer and PSG fan @ShubmanGill at Parc des Princes: PSG

Shubman is taking a vacation in the French city after months of non-stop cricketing activities across forms. Gill recently attended the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, where Manchester City defeated archrivals Manchester United 2-1 to win their second trophy of the season.  The 23-year-old cricketer attended the football match with Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma, while Suryakumar Yadav was also spotted at the stadium with his wife ahead of the World T20 final.

A few days back, Gill congratulated Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland on Instagram, but he later removed the message. The new batting sensation failed to make an impact in the WTC Final against Australia. The 23-year-old advanced to the WTC final after a strong performance in the IPL 2023. The Gujarat Titans batsman won the Orange Cap this season after scoring 870 runs in 17 innings.

However, he was unable to replicate this performance in the WTC final against Australia, scoring only 31 runs across two innings. India lost the summit duel by 209 runs, extending their quest for the ICC trophy after defeats in the previous two WTC Finals.

Concerning PSG, the French club won the Ligue 1 championship as well as the Trophee des Champions Cup last season, but suffered a blow when Lionel Messi opted to leave after two years to join Inter Miami in the United States, with Neymar also anticipated to go. The club is also in danger of losing Kylian Mbappe, who has refused to extend his current deal until 2025 and will be a free agent the next year. PSG are anticipated to lose Mbappe to Real Madrid.
