Watch: Surrey’s Will Jacks smashes five consecutive sixes in T20 Blast game against Middlesex

In the ongoing T20 Blast in England, Surrey faced Middlesex at the Kennington Oval in London. In the high-scoring encounter, Middlesex beat Surry by 7 wickets as they chased down the mammoth total of 252 runs in 19.2 overs. Riding on half-centuries of skipper Stevie Eskinazi and Max Holden Middlesex outplayed Surrey in The Oval.

Earlier, after being called to bat first Surrey posted a mammoth total of 252/7 in 20 overs. Opener Will Jacks and Laurie Evans put up the show for Surrey as they added 177 runs for the first wicket in just 12.4 overs. Evans in his innings scored 85 runs off 37 balls with the help of nine boundaries and five sixes. Meanwhile, Jacks steal the show by smashing five back-to-back sixes against Luke Hollman in the 11th over.

Here is the video:

Jacks struck Hollman for five straight sixes in the first five balls of the 11th over and was waiting to strike a sixth one, joining the likes of Yuvraj Singh and Herschelle Gibbs in setting the record. However, he did miss out on the sixth six because he was unable to despatch a lucrative full toss from the Middlesex leg spinner. Notably, Jacks missed out on IPL 2023 due to injury after being signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 3.2 crore in the auction.

Holden-Eskinazi scripts historic chase for Middlesex

Cracknell scored 36 runs off 16 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. Meanwhile, skipper Eskinazi went on to smash a blistering half-century as he scored 73 runs off 39 balls with the help of 13 boundaries and a six.

After their departure, Max Holden and Ryan Higgins added 105 runs for the third wicket. Higgins in his innings scored 48 runs off 24 balls with the help of six boundaries and two sixes. Meanwhile, Holden stayed till the end and scored 68 runs off 35 balls with the help of nine boundaries and two sixes. Holden along with Jack Dives ensured a memorable victory for Middlesex. Notably, this is the second-highest run chase in T20 cricket.
