‘Isse acha sponsor rakhte hi nahi’ – Fans react as Team India announce new title sponsor ahead of ODI World Cup 2023

Fantasy gaming platform Dream 11 has replaced Byju’s as the new title sponsor for the Indian Cricket team after winning the lead sponsors’ rights for INR 358 crore. Reportedly, Dream 11 emerged as the sole serious contender in the race with two other companies also showing interest by picking up the tender document.

Byju’s had an optional agreement with the Indian Cricket Board until November but decided to end it in March. Since then, India were looking for a jersey sponsor. Byju’s sponsored Team Indian for almost three and a half years. According to journalist K Shriniwas Rao, Dream11 will replace Byju’s logo in the middle of the Indian team’s jersey for the next four years.

During that time, the Indian team wore new training and match jerseys provided by Adidas, as reported earlier in February. Under the previous deal with Byju’s, the Cricket Board earned round Rs 5.5 crore for each bilateral match and Rs 1.7 crore for an International game due to logo placement.
