Jasprit Bumrah has been India’s best bowler since his debut. The right-arm fast bowler from Gujarat is arguably the best bowler in international cricket across formats since his debut. At his best, Bumrah is nearly unplayable for the batters. Be it any format, Bumrah is lethal with the ball. The 29-year-old is highly regarded in the cricket fraternity.

Skill-wise, Bumrah is one of the best the world has ever had. For Test cricket, Bumrah has the required swing with the new ball. The Indian pacer can seam the ball too. Apart from them, in placid wickets, Bumrah has the ability to reverse the ball and cause trouble to the batters. With Bumrah as the bowler, batters can never feel at home in the middle.

In limited-overs cricket, Bumrah has a lot of variations. The quick pacer has often used slower ones to perfection in the Indian premier league and international cricket. But it is the deadly yorker that takes the cake as his most lethal weapon. Adding to these, the unorthodox action of the bowler makes it difficult for the batters to pick him.

Unorthodox action, the cause of injury

While the unorthodox action of Bumrah was a boon to him, it also turned out to be a bane for nearly a year now. Due to the stress on the back, Bumrah was badly injured. Back issues are very bad for a bowler. It keeps the bowlers away from cricket for a long time. It has been the same case with Bumrah, who has not been able to play cricket for a year now due to a back injury.

The premier fast bowler of India missed many major tournaments in the last year including the big 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. But recently, Bumrah has been recovering from his injury. The process is almost towards completion, as Bumrah posted a video on his social media with him working in the National cricket academy for his recovery. The video had a background song whose lyrics read ‘I am coming home’ which indicated that he is getting ready for his comeback.

Here’s how the fans reacted to the video –
