CSK’s Ambati Rayudu dismisses speculation of conflict between Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni during IPL 2022

It’s undeniable that everybody was surprised by CSK’s poor performance in the 2022 edition of the IPL, considering that their team triumphed in the tournament in 2021. Notably, as the edition began, CSK skipper MS Dhoni made remarks saying that star spinner Ravindra Jadeja would be taking charge as captain over him. This was happening despite senior player Ambati Rayudu’s presence in the squad.

Notably, the great all-rounder Jadeja had a miserable record as a captain, with just two wins in eight games. Following that, he returned the captaincy to MS Dhoni back. However, this didn’t end up resulting in much luck, as the Chennai Super Kings were only able to win four matches in that edition and ended up in the second-last position in the points table. Following this, there were rifts all around, and many speculated that all of this had led to conflicts between the two players.

I don’t think Jaddu (Jadeja) was upset with Mahi bhai: Rayudu

However, in a recent interview, former India and CSK batsman Ambati Rayudu revealed that there was no conflict between Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni. The star batter also claimed that all team members were not up to that mark, which led to the worst season of the Chennai Super Kings in 2022.

“I don’t think Jaddu (Jadeja) was upset with Mahi bhai at all. It was just that he was sad because the team wasn’t doing great. Everyone’s performances that year were not coming up to the mark,” Rayudu said on BehindWoodsTV YouTube channel, being quoted by Hindustan Times.

The right-handed batter further added that MS Dhoni has always backed Jadeja for the past 10–12 years, and he is the happy product of the CSK skipper, who ended up hitting 10 runs in the final two balls to make their team win for the fifth time after defeating Gujarat Titians in the final game.

“He (Dhoni) has put this team and has made Jaddu (Jadeja) what he is today. He has nurtured him for what, 10-12 years. So, he would naturally be happy that the product that he made has won the final for CSK after whatever happened last year,” he added further.
