Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli to play in 3rd ODI against West Indies, Rahul Dravid reveals

After winning the first ODI, Team India couldn’t continue that momentum and lost the second match against the West Indies. Notably, Team India had a good start but continued wickets, on the other hand, didn’t allow them to score much and collapsed at 181 runs after being sent to bat first. Following that, while chasing, the West Indies easily attained the target and won the second ODI by six wickets.

In addition, Team India has made some crucial changes to it. Indian star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were rested, and Sanju Samson and Axar Patel replaced them, and the squad has played under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya. Speaking on the same subject, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid defended the decision to rest Rohit and Virat. The former India skipper said that they are looking for the ‘bigger picture’ while keeping the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup in mind.

“I think we will always look at the bigger picture. To be very honest with you, at this stage in the cycle with the Asia Cup and World Cup coming up, and injuries we have, we have to look at the big picture. We have to look at things like that. We can’t get worried about every single game and every single series. If we do that, I think that will be a mistake”, Dravid said.

We will be tested now that the series stands 1-1: Pandya

Team India is all set to lock horns for the series decider match that is taking place on August 1. Stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya has recently said that it will be a test between both teams, considering both are at 1-1. The great all-rounder further said that the final ODI will be exciting for the viewers as well as for them.

“Being a turtle at the moment, not a rabbit. Hoping everything goes well during the World Cup. They will be tested, we will be tested now that the series stands 1-1. The next game will be exciting for the viewers as well as the players,” Pandya said during the post-match presentation.
