WATCH: Tilak Varma receives wonderful surprise from Mumbai Indians teammate after his international debut

Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma’s hard work paid off as he got picked up for the Indian squad for the five-match T20I series against West Indies. Notably, the great batter made his debut during the first match against West Indies. In addition, the 20-year-old batter was the highest run-scorer during the opening match, as the left-handed batter struck 39 runs from just 22 balls, featuring two boundaries and three sixes with a solid strike rate of 177.

Notably, a plethora of fans and former cricketers like Aakash Chopra and Mohammad Kaif all praised Tilak’s batting, including skipper Pandya. Following the match, the stylish batter received a pleasant surprise in the form of a video call from his Mumbai Indians teammate, Dewald Brevis.

The video has been posted by the Indian Cricket Board, and it clearly seems that the South African batter is wishing the young batter congratulations on his debut. The right-handed batter, Brevis, feels great to see Varma fulfil his dream.

“I hope you’re very excited. I don’t know if I’m more excited than you, but I just wanna say from my side and from the Brevis family congratulations on your debut. It’s such a great moment for you and your family. I can just imagine how your parents and everyone must be. It’s great to see you out there living your dream, and it gave me goosebumps those that second ball and third ball.” Dewald Brevis said in the video

Moreover, Tilak Varma says that it was a great surprise for him. The Indian batter thought it must be his coach or family, but it was his Mumbai Indian teammate.

“I really loved it. It was a wonderful surprise. I was thinking about that could be my coach or my family. But the other option was Dewald Brevis my brother. So it was really happy. And thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you so much,” Varma said.
