‘Nautanki koi yaha se sikhe’ – Fans react as Shoaib Malik confirms his availability to play T20Is for Pakistan
Pakistan star all-rounder Shoaib Malik is in magnificent form during the ongoing Lanka Premier League 2023. Notably, the star batter has been playing for the Jaffna Kings. In addition, during his last match, the great batter hammered 74 runs from 53 balls, featuring 5 boundaries and 6 sixes, against Dambulla Aura, but unfortunately his side fell short by 9 runs, but his stellar knock was praised by experts and fans.
Notably, following his great knock, the great Pakistani cricketer affirms that he is ready to play for Pakistan in T20Is, as the star batter has not announced his retirement in the shortest format of the game. Moreover, the 41-year-old clearly states that he has no plan to make a comeback in a Test or ODI. In addition, the right-handed batter went on to say that he does not have any expectations from the skipper, selectors, or PCB for his comeback in T20Is.
“When I was dropped from the Pakistan team, my performances and stats were very good. I have retired from Tests and ODI and I have no plans of making a comeback in those formats. However, I am ready to return to the T20 team if they call me. But I don’t expect anything from the captain, the selectors, or the PCB. I have zero expectations from anyone. I am fit and will continue as long as I enjoy playing,” Malik said on Pak TV.
My hopes are very high: Shoaib Malik
Meanwhile, the Pakistani batter also spoke about his team, which will be playing in the ODI World Cup in India. Notably, the Jaffna Kings batter says that the Babar Azam side has been playing well, and some players are in good form currently, and he has high expectations from them.
“All the participating teams will be under pressure during the World Cup, and the same goes for Pakistan. However, Pakistan have been playing very well, and a lot of players are in great form currently. My hopes are very high,” he added further.
