‘Thank God he didn’t include Pak’ – Fans react as AB de Villiers picks his four teams for semifinals of ODI World Cup 2023

All the cricketing teams are gearing up for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 which is slated to take place in the host country, India. Notably, a plethora of fans and cricket pundits are expressing their views about the upcoming mega contest. Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers picked his four teams as the semi-finalists.

In addition, the star batter feels the Men in Blue have the chance to win the trophy on their home soil again after 2011. Moreover, the stylish right-handed batter has named India, South Africa, England, and Australia as the semi-finalists for the World Cup 2023. Furthermore, the former RCB batter believes that Babar Azam’s side also has a fair chance to make it to the semis. Notably, the wicketkeeper batter has called the upcoming World Cup a fairy tale.

I think India will go on to win it over there again: AB de Villiers

“Definitely, India. I think they will go on to win it over there again. It’s going to be a fairytale World Cup. India, England, and Australia got to go with the big three. Then I want to – go with South Africa, even though Pakistan has a really good chance as well. So the fourth team will be South Africa. I’ve gone with three non-sub-continent teams there, which is very risky,” AB de Villiers said on his YouTube channel.

Notably, the legendary cricketer affirms the final of the World Cup 2023 should be between India and England, and if that happens, it would be fantastic. Moreover, the 29-year-old cricketer also expressed his wish to see South Africa during the final match.

England and India in the final. If they can find each other in that final, I think that will be fantastic, even though I really want my South African boys to be there,” he added further.
