‘Vo kahi bhi batting kar sakta hai’ – AB de Villiers backs Virat Kohli to bat at number 4 during Asia Cup and ODI World Cup

Rohit Sharma and Co. are gearing up for the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. Notably, the Men in Blue are still struggling to find a suitable batter at number four, despite the comebacks of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, owing to their lack of matches ahead of the marquee events. In addition, following this, a plethora of former cricketers and experts are debating India’s batter at position four. Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers feels India’s stalwart Virat Kohli is a great option.

In addition, the former RCB batter says he heard a lot of debate concerning India’s batting position at number four in an ODI. Moreover, the 39-year-old cricketer supported former India skipper Virat Kohli in the batting position at number four. “We’re still talking about who will be the No. 4 batter for India. I’ve heard some rumours about Virat (Kohli) possibly taking up that position. I would be a big supporter of that,” AB de Villiers said on his YouTube channel ‘AB de Villiers 360’.

I think Virat Kohli is perfect for No. 4: AB de Villiers

Notably, the former wicket-keeper-batter feels India’s star batter is perfect at number four owing to his ability to produce magnificent shots during the middle orders. In addition, the former right-handed batter is not sure whether the 34-year-old batter would agree to bat at that position. Moreover, the former wicketkeeper-batsman also affirmed that the former RCB skipper loves to bat at number three owing to his runs at that position, but Virat can bat in the lower order if the team needs him at that position.

“I think Virat is perfect for No. 4. He can put the innings together, play any kind of role in that middle order. I don’t know if he would like to do that. We know he loves his No. 3 position; he’s scored all his runs there, but at the end of the day, if the team needs you to do something, or play a certain role, you have got to put your hand up and go for it,” he added further.
