‘Ek tournament nhi host kar pa rahe’ -Fans react as Hyderabad Cricket Association wants Pakistan-New Zealand warm-up game to be rescheduled

The much-awaited upcoming ODI World Cup is probably going to go through yet another change as the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) requested the Indian Cricket Board to change the practice match between Pakistan and New Zealand on September 29. Notably, the HCA requested to change the dates for the warm-up games due to the festivals of Ganesh Visarjan and Milad-Un-Nabi on September 28.

Notably, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) made a second request to the Indian Cricket Board for an issue during the marquee event, which is all set to commence in less than a month. The HCA complained when the Indian Cricket Board started selling tickets for World Cup events, including warm-up games.

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is concerned about the Pakistan team

It was previously reported that the Hyderabad police had expressed their concerns regarding the security issues between the two games taking place in the city over a span of two days. Notably, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium of Hyderabad will host the match between New Zealand and the Netherlands on October 9, whereas Sri Lanka and Pakistan will lock horns on October 10. Later, the Indian Cricket Board denied their request to change the dates. However, the officials promised to give extra security to the Babar Azam side during the match.

Notably, as the schedule was out, a plethora of changes were made, including the India-Pakistan clash that was shifted to October 14th from October 15th as it fell on the first day of Navratri, which is considered an important festival in the state of Gujarat.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board was reluctant to send their team to India owing to security reasons, and if the match doesn’t get rescheduled, they may have security issues. According to reports, there will be a plethora of police in the hotel where the Pakistani team will be staying during the ODI World Cup.
