‘Credit should go to MS Dhoni, but he didn’t sacrifice…..’ – Sreesanth’s bold verdict on Gautam Gambhir’s massive claim about legendary cricketer

Former India cricketer turned analyst Gautam Gambhir, who always seems fuming for the 2011 ODI World Cup win debate, has surprised the cricketing world with his great remark about MS Dhoni a few days ago. The well-renowed cricketer commentator feels the legendary cricketer has achieved a lot as a skipper but failed to achieve much as a batter owing to his batting position in the team.

Following the same, former India bowler Sreesanth dismissed the claim made by Gautam Gambhir in his recent interview. The 40-year-old cricketer says that star cricketer MS Dhoni has always thought about team victories over runs. In addition, the former seamer says that Ranchi-born Stalwart always had the ability to finish up the games, which made him win the two major tournaments and be one of the most successful cricketers.

“Gautam Bhai said recently that Dhoni would have scored more runs had he batted at No.3. But for Dhoni it was always about more victories than more runs. He always had the ability to finish games when the team needed him and he won two World Cups as well,” Sreesanth said being quoted by Hindustan Times.

Moreover, the right-arm pacer clarified that the former India skipper hasn’t sacrificed his batting position at all. The 2011 World Cup-winning star also reveals that MS Dhoni’s captaincy has always brought the best out of his players during the game. In addition, the star bowler also said that the CSK skipper was the only one who had worked to find suitable positions for his team.

“Credit should go to Dhoni, but he didn’t sacrifice his batting position. He worked a way to find out which players would do well for the team in which position and then slot them in those positions accordingly. His captaincy had the ability to bring the best out of his players. He has always thought about the team first,” he added further.
