Sachin Tendulkar was one of the greatest batters to have played the game in Indian cricket and world cricket. The right-hander made 18,426 runs in 463 games at an average of 44.83 and at a strike rate of 86.23. He has scored 96 fifties and 49 hundreds. When he retired from ODI cricket in 2012 he completed the record of scoring a hundred hundreds in total with 51 centuries in Tests and 49 centuries in ODIs. He retired from ODI cricket after playing an Asia Cup game against Pakistan in 2012.

Sachin presented an Indian ODI jersey at Varanasi to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi was given the jersey in the presence of UP Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath. Sachin also paid a visit to the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. Varanasi is about to get a slice of history as the foundation stone for its first cricket stadium has been laid. Jay Shah was also present at the event.

The land for the stadium was acquired at a cost of Rs 121 crore (INR), while the Indian Cricket Board will spend Rs 330 crore on its construction. Situated near the Ring Road in the Rajatalab area, the stadium will reportedly be built at a cost of Rs 451 crore and is expected to have a capacity of 30,000. The stadium will be completed by 2025. This will be the third stadium in the state of UP.

The Ekana Stadium is the home ground of the Lucknow Super Giants 

Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium is also in UP which is the home ground of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).  Green Park Stadium in Kanpur is also a very iconic stadium which has hosted a lot of Test matches and also a few games in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

This happens to be the second stadium that will be constructed in India after the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat which recently went past the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) as the largest cricket stadium in the World. India has had some iconic stadiums to play cricket at for a long time.
